Do you have something in your life that you always talk about doing and just don’t seem to get around to? One of those things that you think would be fun but requires a lot of planning and time. And let’s be serious, who has time?
Well, who would have known that one of the things on our list was to dress my son up as a leprechaun! Yep you heard me, a leprechaun. We’ve always thought he looked a bit like a troll or leprechaun so there was no time like the present ♣ And when I say this, I mean it in the kindest, most possible way. I love this kid.
I know that I would have never gotten around to doing this and so lucky for me my awesome brother and his wife and their 5 month old daughter spent their Saturday with my little leprechaun. They put together a great outfit for him and my oldest son helped apply the beard and nose.
My little man felt so fancy about it and loved going around from door to door surprising people and offering them candy. He even had a special dance that he’s been practicing for years. At one point he literally jumped out from under a bridge and asked a passerby “do you have me gold?” It was so funny!
So, here are a few shots from today. The rainbow was of course added in after the fact. Since I am obsessed with rainbows, I just so happened to have one handy.
Hope you all had a great St. Patrick’s Day!
Did anyone catch a leprechaun of their own?

I really enjoyed photographing my first session for the Images of Hope fundraiser HERE. I was happy to do another session for them on short notice. It is always such a pleasure meeting these families and hearing of their touching stories. This little baby was the 10 000 baby born in Calgary through the help of IVF. Amazing!
Just a reminder to everyone that the fundraiser is coming up on March 10. This will be my first time attending the event but from what I hear it is a truly wonderful time. For more information or to purchase your ticket please go HERE.
I have also donated a session for the auction which includes the session itself, the digital negatives and a 20×20 canvas. ($2250 value) SO, if f you are already wanting to book a session with me why not come out to this fundraiser and put that money to a good cause! Who knows, you may even save yourself some money in the long run.
Here are just a few captures from our -35 degree session. Luckily we were inside!

Just this past year I joined a group called Helping Hearts.
This is how they describe themselves: “Helping Hearts is a project created by Melissa Knowles & Michelle Regner with the goal of being able to provide free photography sessions for families with children who are suffering a life-altering illness or disability. Over the last couple of years we have acquired an entire team of photographers who are dedicated to donating their time to Helping Hearts because they believe in sharing the gift of photography with as many families as possible.”
