I have been so excited that this year I have actually taken many pictures of my own kids! I love that they will still go along with my ideas and even admit that they had fun doing it.
Family photography is so important to me. We all know how fast time goes and these little kids that we now know will be changing and developing into brand new people right before our eyes.
There is something about being the mom of boys that I absolutely love. Well, there are lots of things actually. I always look forward to doing laundry (well, that might be a stretch) and finding little treasures in their pockets. I’ve often thought that I should frame some of the things I find in them. Coins, sticks, candy wrappers, rocks, caps for their guns, notes from friends at school and many other things that make me smile.
I’m grateful to have captured these moments. I often feel like the luckiest person in the world.

Look at this little angel. She is two weeks old in these pictures and she slept through the entire session. It didn’t matter if we had her outside, bundled, naked, in a stream…. she just slept and slept and smiled every now and then. At one point I had her in the basket in the little stream (with her mom right beside her for safety) and a lady came running over completely scared. She couldn’t see us because we were on the opposite side of the stream from her camouflaged in the trees and she thought someone had left the baby in the water alone. It was pretty funny.
It feels so great shooting outside again. These are my favourite conditions to shoot in by far! I think it adds a little magic to each session.
Thanks Genevieve for being such a perfect little girl! xoxo

These two boys have been pretty much inseparable since birth. For real. Although they are cousins, they are very much like brothers. They had the exact due date and ended up only being born 4 days apart. They live 7 houses apart and do pretty much everything together. School, playing, sports, art, church… you name it. They get along so well and look out for each other everywhere they go!
I love these boys.
Here they are discussing which girl in the class they think is the cutest!
